Licensed Providers
Do you want to work with a company that provides the support of a group, but that takes ZERO profit off the top of your pay? Does going out on your own sound scary but working under oppressive healthcare systems sound worse? It did to me too.
Hi, I’m Kim Lycan, owner of Lycan Counseling, PLLC. I am working to build a cooperative of independent providers across Washington State that steps outside the norms of our current business models. The vision is to build a diverse group that shares common values, is known to have education and experience to meet the needs of clients and can work toward common goals of accessible and affirming wellness services
WITHOUT exuding control over providers. To accomplish this, my practice works to contract with providers of all levels to collaboratively work toward success.
My business operates functionally like a true worker co-op, in that I value and strive to uphold the tenents of a co-op between licensed providers in my group. You can learn more about what makes a co-op and how my business fits in this model here.
Co-ops in healthcare can be a challenge. To bypass some challenges I have worked to develop a different model to provide a cost sharing solution that is better in many ways that other groups. I want to change the narrative in healthcare that we cannot make money together or that we have to give up what we make to get benefits of support and not be alone in the fight against an oppressive system.
