I am a Washington State Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I received my MS in Applied Psychology with an emphasis in Mental Health Counseling from Eastern Washington University. My training specializes in the individual treatment of youth and young adults at all levels of care. I became a Washtington State Approved Clinical Supervisor, eligible to supervise associates and interns pursuing full licensure, in Jan 2020. I also provide supervision of supervision to licensed providers looking to meet the requirements to become approved.

Much of my work and experience is in the treatment of LGBTQIA2+ folks,
neurodivergent folks, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, and active
self-harm. My therapy and supervision are informed by Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Somatic Therapy, Intuitive Eating, Narrative Therapy, Creative therapies (art, music, writing), Feminist Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy. I am also certified in CBT+ and have years of experience applying DBT in residential, group, and individual therapy settings.

I believe in helping providers to become the counselor they want to be, rather than a copy of myself. My goal is to develop your skills and training in the modalities, and with the populations, you are drawn to while developing an understanding of ethics and legal responsibilities. I believe in non-hierarchical structures and work to make my team feel that we all have something to contribute. I learn from everyone I work with and believe we all have a unique perspective we bring to any consult. I look forward to meeting with you and growing together!

She/Her

Hello there! My name is Brittani Tyler. I am a licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington. I received my bachelor’s degree in psychology from EWU (2015) and my master’s degree in counseling GCU (2019).

I have experience in a group-practice setting, primarily working with teens and young adults. I am passionate about guiding those who are struggling to find purpose and fulfillment in this life- even when it feels like the “impossible”.

I believe that we all share similar experiences when we are talking about human suffering. I see a pattern in how our childhood shapes our self-esteem, worldview lens and attachment in interpersonal relationships. I like to uncover each aspect of a person’s life and lead them to self-discovery. The way in which you experience the world is an integral part of therapy. I consistently use modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and trauma-informed therapy with an emphasis on attachment theory. I have also completed training in perinatal/postpartum mental health. My style is all-encompassing.

I am currently a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, collaborating with Lycan Counseling to become a Washington State Approved Clinical Supervisor. I would describe my supervision style as guidance-based in addition to empowering clinicians to make independent ethically sound decisions (according to the APA/AMHCA code of ethics).
